The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
nickelson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
nickelson tries for a takedown but Gonzaga sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
nickelson shoots in looking for a takedown. Gonzaga tries to sprawl out of it but nickelson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gonzaga manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Gonzaga shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
nickelson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gonzaga circles away.

nickelson shoots in but Gonzaga avoids the takedown attempt easily.

nickelson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gonzaga's waist but Gonzaga gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing nickelson off to one side.

nickelson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
