Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Big Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyrone Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tyrone Steele!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bob shoots in looking for a takedown. Steele tries to sprawl out of it but Bob keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Steele manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Steele is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bob's half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Bob gets back to full guard.

Bob had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Steele defends it easily.
Bob tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bob can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Steele controls the pace.
Let's hope that Steele has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Steele content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Steele not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tyrone Steele hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Steele closes the distance and pushes Bob back into the cage.
Bob jumps guard but Steele turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Steele tightens his grip and picks Bob up, before dumping him to the ground. Bob manages to land in guard.
Steele stays in close to Bob's body and controls the position.
Bob controls Steele momentarily but Steele frees himself.

Steele gets to his feet - Bob follows without any prompting.

Steele shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Bob is trying to defend but Steele finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bob is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Steele wants to pass to mount but Bob is defending the position.
Bob tries to kick Steele off but Steele keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Steele is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Steele takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Steele wants to pass the guard but Bob is defending well.
Bob pushes Steele off looking to stand but Steele dives back in and keeps control.
Steele working over Bob with some ground and pound. Bob looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Bob is trying to control but can't.

Steele is pressing down on Bob's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bob is holding on for now.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Steele passes into side control, despite Bob's attempt to control the position.

Bob takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Bob fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Steele thumps Bob with a low kick.
A head kick misses from Bob.
Bob tries to close the distance and clinch but Steele swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Steele shoots in for a takedown but Bob shows good takedown defense.
Steele avoids the head kick by Bob.

Steele shoots in and bounces Bob off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Steele stands up and waves to Bob to follow him.
Bob jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Steele moves into the clinch.
Bob is trying to force a seperation but Steele has the dominant position.

Steele manages to break the clinch.

Steele bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Bob wants to control but Steele postures up.
A lull in the action here.
Bob is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Steele looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Steele is breathing heavily.

Steele landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
You can see the frustration on Bob's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Bob is being controlled here.
Steele scores with a couple of short elbows.

Bob is trying to control Steele's posture but Steele avoids it.
Steele blocks the strikes from Bob.

Bob tries to buck Steele off but Steele is having none of it.
Steele happy to just control the position for now.

Steele stands up.

Steele fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bob sprawls well initially but Steele persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Steele in particular looking to stall.
Bob is trying to stand back up but Steele is controlling him

Steele wants to free his trapped foot but Bob is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Steele seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Steele's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Tyrone Steele has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Bob throws a leg kick but Steele sees it coming and moves out of range.
Steele closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bob circles away.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Steele counters with a left and a right that stings Bob.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyrone Steele showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Well Steele has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
