The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Christou stuffs the takedown attempt from Khan. Khan gets slowly back to his feet.
Khan closes the distance and clinches up with Christou, looking for a takedown. Khan pushes Christou against the cage but Christou circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Khan shoots in but Christou avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Khan is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Christou is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Khan has his foot on Christou's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Christou works his way back into a safe position though.

Christou stands and steps away. Khan gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Christou throws a right hand that Khan ducks under and follows up with a left that Khan also avoids with ease.

Khan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Khan tries for a takedown but Christou sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Khan shoots in looking for a takedown. Christou tries to sprawl out of it but Khan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Christou manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A left and a right from Christou both land. Nice combination.

Khan shoots for a double leg takedown but Christou sprawls well. He's pushed Khan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Khan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Christou tries to avoid it but Khan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Christou to the ground. Christou escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
