The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Wire does no damage.
Wire swats away the attempt to clinch by Lindqvist.

Lindqvist tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wire swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Wire scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Wire is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Lindqvist reverses the position - he's now on top in Wire's guard.

Wire looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Lindqvist has picked Wire up and slammed him! Wire can't keep hold of the triangle and Lindqvist manages to pass to side control!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lindqvist changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wire tries to avoid it but Lindqvist manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wire to the ground. Wire escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Wire is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
