PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Noonan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kid Dynamite (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Noonan's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, 3DD - Kryptonite. Kid Dynamite will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Michael Noonan!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Kid Dynamite!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dynamite swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Dynamite swings for the body but Noonan moves out of range.
Dynamite misses with a series of wild punches.
Noonan connects with a leg kick. Dynamite looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Noonan drives through and clinches with Dynamite against the cage.
Noonan pushes Dynamite back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Noonan misses with a short punch on the inside.
Dynamite tries to circle away but Noonan has him pinned against the cage.
Dynamite working hard to break the clinch.
Noonan goes for a takedown attempt but Dynamite pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Dynamite throws a series of punches but Noonan moves out of range.
Dynamite sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Kid Dynamite seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dynamite connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.


It looks like Michael Noonan has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dynamite takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Dynamite looks gassed!
Noonan pushes Dynamite away with a front kick.
Noonan looks to throw the jab but Dynamite is out of range.
Noonan lands with a thumping leg kick.
A telegraphed right hand from Noonan misses the target.

Noonan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Dynamite tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Noonan is in Dynamite's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Noonan is in close to Dynamite's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Noonan keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dynamite's head.
Noonan throws a big right hand that misses.
Noonan content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Noonan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Noonan trying to control the position from guard on top but Dynamite is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Noonan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Dynamite utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Dynamite on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Dynamite thows a body shot but no joy.

Noonan shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dynamite napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Noonan throws an elbow but Dynamite slips to the side and avoids it well.
Dynamite is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Noonan is controlling him well.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Noonan cracks Dynamite with a big elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Noonan pushes Dynamite away with a front kick.
Noonan slips under a jab.
Noonan throws a leg kick which misses Dynamite's front leg but catches the back leg as Dynamite tries to avoid it.

Noonan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Noonan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Noonan throws a big right hand that misses.
Dynamite wants to get back to his feet but Noonan is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Noonan throws a big elbow that misses.
Dynamite really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Noonan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Noonan passes into half guard.
Noonan takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Noonan working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Dynamite keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dynamite can do anything to dispel that myth.

Noonan is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Noonan throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Noonan lands strikes from half guard.
Noonan works his foot free and advances to mount.
Noonan postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Dynamite bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Noonan and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michael Noonan!
