The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mouzone closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bateman to the mat! Bateman manages to get full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mouzone wants to control from the top but Bateman keeps moving.
Mouzone throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bateman works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bateman looks to score with a jab to the body but Mouzone is just out of range.

Mouzone shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mouzone showed some decent athleticism there.
Mouzone is keen to just control but Bateman is a slippery customer.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Bateman avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Mouzone.
Mouzone uses his free foot to push down on Bateman's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bateman.
BOOM! Mouzone connects with a massive shot to the dome!

A very excited looking Marlo Mouzone rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
