Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shogun Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Przybylski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shogun Rua has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shogun Rua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Adam Przybylski!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua closes this distance looking for a takedown but Przybylski circles away.
Rua looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Przybylski is looking to clinch.
Przybylski shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rua sprawls well. Rua wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Przybylski gets slowly back to his feet.
Rua tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Przybylski paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A chopping leg kick lands by Rua.
Rua wants to clinch.

Przybylski is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Rua's half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Rua gets back to full guard.

Przybylski tries to stand and escape but Rua is controlling the position.
Przybylski tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rua knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rua wants to improve his position but Przybylski is controlling well.

The fighters are battling for position here. Rua manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Rua looking for a sweep. Not yet Rua, not yet.

Przybylski got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rua has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Przybylski has managed to get both his arms back between Rua's legs - danger averted.
Rua will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Przybylski avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Przybylski wants to control from the top but Rua keeps moving.
Przybylski must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Rua pulls Przybylski in close to prevent any damage.
Przybylski wanted to stand there but Rua had control of the position.

That was a close round but I would say that Shogun Rua will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Rua shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Przybylski pinned against the cage. Przybylski gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Rua is stalling here. Przybylski is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Rua seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Przybylski has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Rua really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rua is trying to escape the mount.

Let's hope that Przybylski has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Przybylski's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Rua tries to hold on but Przybylski postures up.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Rua is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Rua tries to lock up and control but Przybylski gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Rua wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Przybylski.

Przybylski can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rua is looking to escape.
Rua tries to lock up and control but Przybylski gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Przybylski feints and as Rua raises his hands in defense, Przybylski changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Przybylski won't allow Rua to get back to his feet.
Przybylski should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Adam Przybylski hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
