The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Eddie Farnsworth and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bermudez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Bermudez tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Johns is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Bermudez off and has taken his back!
Johns is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Bermudez has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Johns has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Bermudez taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Johns doesn't care though - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Trent Johns!
