Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Snow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Mitchell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mitchell has chosen Badass by Saliva as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Jason Mitchell has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jon Snow's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Mitchell!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mitchell shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Mitchell tries to pass to full mount but Snow defends it.
Mitchell is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Snow wants to improve his position but Mitchell is controlling well.
Snow blocking the ground and pound attempt from Mitchell.
Mitchell is looking to take a break and control but Snow is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Mitchell is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Snow still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Snow has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Mitchell is trying to get back to half guard.
Snow creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Mitchell sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Mitchell tries to improve position but can't.
Snow wants to control but Mitchell is keeping him busy.
Snow tries to move to mount but Mitchell blocks the move with his legs.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Snow wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mitchell keeps working.
Mitchell tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Snow is looking to take a break and control but Mitchell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mitchell regains half guard, as Snow was trying to land strikes.
Mitchell tries to roll over but Snow keeps him under control.
Snow wants to take a breather but Mitchell is having none of it.

Mitchell is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Snow scores with a couple of nice shots.

Snow prevents Mitchell from standing back up.
Mitchell is controlling Snow's trapped leg to prevent Snow from advancing to side control.
Mitchell is looking for a sweep. Snow is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Snow passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Mitchell!
Mitchell wants to control but Snow is having none of it.
Snow trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Snow is really struggling to control Mitchell but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jon Snow just wasn't active enough.

Mitchell tries to clinch but Snow moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jon Snow will probably get the nod.

Snow is looking for a sweep. Mitchell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mitchell is thwarting Snow's attempts to control the position.
Mitchell wants to free his trapped foot but Snow is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The fighters are battling for position here. Snow manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Mitchell wanted to stand there but Snow had control of the position.

Snow has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mitchell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jason Mitchell hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Mitchell looks to land a combination but Snow avoids it well.
Mitchell swats away the attempt to clinch by Snow.
The fighters circling - Mitchell throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Snow lands a jab to Mitchell's midsection.

Mitchell fails with an attempt to clinch.
Snow misses with a takedown attempt - Mitchell sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Mitchell connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Snow's hands.
Snow fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Snow swats away the attempt to clinch by Mitchell.

Mitchell darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Snow manages to get to full guard.

Jason Mitchell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Snow fails to land the takedown.
Mitchell wants to clinch.

Mitchell feints and as Snow raises his hands in defense, Mitchell changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mitchell with a flurry of punches that miss.
Snow trying to keep a closed guard but Mitchell is proving a slippery customer.
Mitchell tries to free his leg and advance position but Snow is retaining full guard.

Mitchell throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Mitchell trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Snow manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mitchell manages to get himself to full guard.
Snow wants to control from the top but Mitchell keeps moving.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Mitchell pulls Snow in close to prevent any damage.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Mitchell gets the takedown into side control.
Mitchell laying and praying for a moment but Snow takes advantage and regains half guard.

Mitchell is looking for a kimura but Snow is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mitchell to get the leverage.
Snow trying to hold on to Mitchell's head to control him but Mitchell postures up.

Mitchell wants to stand up but Snow manages to regain full guard.
Snow not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mitchell controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Mitchell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Snow. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jon Snow.
The fight stays on the outside here - Snow looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Mitchell.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mitchell is trying to move to mount but Snow reverses beautifully and ends up in Mitchell's guard.

Jason Mitchell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Mitchell has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
