Frost's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, With Great Power. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frost throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Schmidt shoots in for a takedown but Frost shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Frost pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Frost connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Schmidt fails with a takedown attempt.
Schmidt blocks a leg kick.
Schmidt takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

It looks like Andreas Schmidt has been cut.
Schmidt misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Decon Frost has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andreas Schmidt.
Schmidt closes this distance looking for a takedown but Frost circles away.
Frost is looking to slow Schmidt down with leg kicks.

Frost closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Frost breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That has opened up Andreas Schmidt's cut even more.
Frost feints and then cracks Schmidt's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Schmidt down.

Frost has Schmidt up against the cage in a clinch.

Frost gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Frost breaks the clinch.
Frost fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Schmidt has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Frost lands a big head kick that sends Schmidt tumbling to the mat! Frost takes a step backwards and waves Schmidt back to his feet - he wants the finish!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
