The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcgee shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cruz but Cruz pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Cruz avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mcgee tries a head kick but it misses.
Cruz throws a right hand that Mcgee ducks under and follows up with a left that Mcgee also avoids with ease.

Cruz has closed the distance and engaged Mcgee in a clinch.

Cruz is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Mcgee can't fight it off and eventually Cruz manages to take the fight to the floor. Mcgee looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Mcgee has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Cruz rolls, trying to escape but Mcgee keeps control of the position.

Mcgee working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Cruz is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Mcgee has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Cruz taps out!
