Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tengo Ray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masato Kunaida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ray fails with the takedown
and Kunaida counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Kunaida misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kunaida fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ray on the side of the head.
Kunaida misses with a series of wild punches.
Ray steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kunaida.
Ray doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Ray takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Kunaida ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ray moves away.
Masato Kunaida is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A nice inside leg kick there by Kunaida. That's going to slow Ray down.
Kunaida misses with an attempted mid kick.
Ray shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kunaida pinned against the cage. Kunaida gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tengo Ray. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Kunaida counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Ray takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Ray takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Ray on the wrong end of a nice jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kunaida loads up on a big right hand but Ray slips the punch.

Kunaida lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Kunaida turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Kunaida throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ray takes one to the chin there.
Ray closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

and Kunaida cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A jab lands there for Kunaida.

Kunaida leaves Ray with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Kunaida throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kunaida throws a right and a left that both miss.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kunaida thumps Ray with a low kick.
Ray gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kunaida counters with a one-two to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Masato Kunaida dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Ray takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Kunaida misses with a hook. Ray ducked under it nicely.
Kunaida scores with a shot to the body.
Kunaida throws a shot from downtown. Ray moves away and avoids it.
Kunaida misses the shot to the body.
Kunaida tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Ray shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ray was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Ray is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Kunaida has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Kunaida wants to hold on but Ray pushes him away.
Kunaida can't escape the position.
Ray looking to control but Kunaida is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Ray working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Ray postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Kunaida looks a forlorn figure.
Ray misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Ray lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Kunaida hang on?
Kunaida is still in real trouble! Can Ray finish him?
Kunaida is looking to get to half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kunaida can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ray postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Kunaida badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Ray around the waist but Ray pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Ray is the winner by TKO! Ray jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
