Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Japa Kaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randall Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson has chosen Im a playa as his entrance music. Randall Johnson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randall Johnson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson connects with a leg kick. Kaka looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Japa Kaka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Johnson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kaka sprawls well initially but Johnson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Johnson is controlling the pace.
Johnson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Johnson with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Kaka knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Johnson on the ground.
Johnson wants to free his trapped foot but Kaka is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Kaka wants to get back to his feet.

Johnson wants to pass the guard but Kaka is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Johnson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kaka doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Johnson.

Well, if Johnson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Johnson slows the pace down in half guard.
Kaka on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kaka tries to get out of the position.
Johnson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Johnson trying to advance position but Kaka counters by regaining guard.
Johnson working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kaka's head.
Johnson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Randall Johnson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Johnson jabs Kaka right on the nose. Kaka blinks but takes it well.

Kaka throws a hook to the side of Johnson's head but Johnson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Kaka takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kaka throws an off balance right hand

and Johnson counters with a shoot takedown. Kaka fights it but they end up in guard.
Kaka keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully.
Johnson controlling from the top position.
Johnson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Randall Johnson dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Johnson is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Kaka swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Johnson fails with the takedown.
Johnson lands with a hook. Kaka tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
A punch combination from Kaka misses.
Johnson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.


It looks like Randall Johnson has been cut.
Kaka sizes up Johnson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kaka tries to land a front kick but Johnson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Kaka misses with a looping left.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Johnson.
Kaka loads up on a big right hand but Johnson slips the punch.
Kaka throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Johnson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Johnson.
Japa Kaka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Randall Johnson.

Kaka swings for the body but Johnson moves out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kaka. Johnson does a little dance to reset his feet.
A punch combination from Johnson misses.
Kaka misses with a hook
and Johnson counters with a nice kick to the body.
Kaka looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Kaka misses with an uppercut

and Johnson counters with a flying knee that sends his opponent to the canvas! Johnson looking to finish!

Johnson wants to control from the top but Kaka keeps moving.

Johnson stops Kaka from standing up.

Johnson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Johnson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Johnson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kaka is keeping the position for now.
Randall Johnson has got the better of the ground game so far.
Johnson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Randall Johnson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Johnson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
A telegraphed right hand from Kaka misses the target.
Randall Johnson seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Johnson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Japa Kaka is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kaka.
Johnson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kaka defends it nicely.
Johnson connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Kaka momentarily.
Kaka lands the left hand.

Johnson lands a high kick to the side of Kaka's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Johnson dives into guard, looking to finish.


Kaka is rocked!

Kaka can't keep his opponent in guard - Johnson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Oh Kaka is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Johnson not doing much here.
Kaka seems to have got his legs back now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Randall Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Kaka's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Johnson throws a head kick but Kaka moves out of range.
Johnson cracks Kaka with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Johnson throws a push kick but Kaka slaps the foot to one side.
Both fighters circling a little - Johnson finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Johnson cracks the inside of Kaka's front leg.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Johnson throws the kick towards the body but Kaka avoids it.
Johnson misses with an attempted mid kick.

Johnson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Johnson is taking a breather. Kaka says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Johnson is looking for a kimura but Kaka is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Johnson to get the leverage.
Johnson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Johnson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Randall Johnson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Johnson dips to his left and cracks Kaka with an uppercut!
Kaka misses with a double jab.
Kaka misses with a left hand
and Johnson counters with a good, hard body kick but Kaka shrugs it off.
Johnson throws a head kick but Kaka moves out of range.
A clash of legs there as Kaka blocks the low kick.
Kaka misses with a body shot.
Kaka misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kaka misses with a few strikes there.
Johnson takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Johnson fails with a takedown attempt.
Kaka connects with a body shot that sends Johnson's belly button to the back.

Johnson just misses with a punch to the body.
Johnson defending well as Kaka loads up on a big left hand.
Kaka throws a jab when Johnson was well out of range.
Kaka scores with a punch to the head.
Kaka throws an off balance right hand
and Johnson counters with a nice body shot.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kaka misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Johnson.
Kaka misses with a wild body shot.
Kaka bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Johnson's head backwards.

Johnson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kaka!
Kaka is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Johnson takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.

Johnson trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Kaka doesn't escape.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Johnson is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Kaka with him. Kaka is trying to defend but Johnson has an arm under the chin now! Kaka grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:41 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Randall Johnson!
An out of breath Randall Johnson thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
