Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mikki Basaev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bla Blub (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Basaev comes to the cage accompanied by hollywood undead- undead. Mikki Basaev had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 158.0lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Mikki Basaev has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Blub scores with a takedown into Basaev's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Blub throws a big right hand that misses.
Blub wants to control from the top but Basaev keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blub is looking to work some ground and pound but Basaev has wrist control.

Basaev has control of Blub's left arm, preventing Blub from doing any damage.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Bla Blub wasn't active enough on the ground.
Blub motions for Basaev to come forward. Blub throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Bla Blub seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Blub lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Basaev is breathing heavily.

Basaev is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Blub is surviving well by controlling Basaev's body position as best he can.

Basaev has control of Blub's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Blub regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Basaev is working for a guillotine from mount but Blub frees his head quite easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Blub tries to lock up and control but Basaev gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Basaev goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Blub turns into him and now he's in Basaev's guard.
Blub throws a big elbow that misses.
Blub throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Basaev works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Blub looking to sit in guard and control but Basaev gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Basaev drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Blub manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Basaev has Blub in his guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Mikki Basaev will probably get the nod.

Blub throws an elbow that misses. Basaev uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Blub's guard. Nice move by Basaev!

Basaev wants to control the pace but Blub is squirming around nicely.
Basaev takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
