And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Paul Bruens!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas misses with a low kick.
Bruens takes a head kick and keeps coming.


It looks like Paul Bruens has been cut.
Thomas sizes up Bruens with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Bruens checks a leg kick.
Thomas scores with a jab to the jaw.
Bruens fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bruens fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Thomas avoids it really well and circles away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bruens is trying hard to land a takedown here. Thomas sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ash Thomas.

Thomas dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bruens. That did some damage!
Bruens throws a lazy right hand but Thomas sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Ash Thomas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bruens ducks under a wild hook from Thomas.
Thomas scores with a push kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Thomas clobbers Bruens with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Thomas tests Bruens's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Thomas throws a head kick that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Thomas lands with a hook. Bruens tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Bruens takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Thomas scores with a shot to the body.
A slow jab from Bruens misses its intended target.
Thomas is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
An inside leg kick from Bruens misses.
Bruens takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Bruens misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Thomas.
Bruens is breathing heavily.
Thomas takes a swing at Bruens's ribcage but misses.
Thomas staying out of range there.
Bruens walks into a stiff left hand from Thomas.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bruens takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Bruens throws a right hand that Thomas ducks under and follows up with a left that Thomas also avoids with ease.
Thomas lands an overhand right.
A solid leg kick lands there for Thomas.
Good exchange - Thomas coming out on top.
Thomas works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.


Bruens is rocked!
Thomas scores with a jab to the body.
Bruens is still on wobbly legs! Can Thomas finish him?
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Thomas.
Thomas scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Bruens seems to have recovered his senses.
Bruens on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Thomas digs a good hook to Bruens's body.
Thomas rushes Bruens with punches - Bruens moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Bruens goes down! Thomas follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ash Thomas!
