PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between EZ PK (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry HolmN (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

PK tries to keep at a distance but HolmN has taken the fight into the clinch.
PK goes for a takedown attempt but HolmN pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
PK fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
PK shoots in for a takedown but HolmN shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for EZ PK. That's going to take a lot out of him.
HolmN connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

HolmN closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
PK is working for takedown but HolmN is calmly controlling the position for now.

HolmN breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

HolmN drives through and clinches with PK against the cage.
PK jumps guard but HolmN stands there with PK around his waist. PK gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
HolmN landing knees to the body.

HolmN breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

HolmN clinches up against the cage.

HolmN breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

HolmN feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

PK wants to sweep but no luck.
PK is breathing heavily.
HolmN wants to pass the guard but PK is keeping the position.

PK working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. HolmN doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. HolmN manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
HolmN trying to stand up but can't free himself from PK's guard.

PK looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
HolmN trying to control but PK is working from the bottom.
PK thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
PK is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
PK keeping moving, preventing HolmN from controlling successfully.
HolmN postures up in PK's guard and throws a big left but PK blocks it.
HolmN throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as PK works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
HolmN thows a body kick. PK tries to catch it but that hurt him.

HolmN has closed the distance and engaged PK in a clinch.

HolmN breaks from the clinch.

HolmN has taken the fight to the clinch.
HolmN lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

It looks like EZ PK has been cut.
HolmN unloads a knee to the mid-section. PK lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
HolmN stalling against the cage.

HolmN breaks the clinch.
PK shoots in but HolmN avoids the takedown attempt easily.

HolmN gets in close and instigates a clinch.
PK tries to pull guard but HolmN holds him up against the cage and eventually PK drops back down to his feet.

PK tries for a takedown but HolmN manages to get underhooks.
PK wants a takedown but no success here.

HolmN breaks from the clinch.
PK gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and HolmN counters with a shoot takedown. PK fights it but they end up in guard.

PK had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. HolmN is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. PK Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take HolmN's back instead.

PK has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. HolmN is defending well but eventually PK manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! HolmN has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
