Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Mourke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Byeongsuk Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Kim's choice of entrance music: Choi Hong Man-Beauty and the Beast. Kim has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 3, fighting out of Helsinki, Byeongsuk Kim!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mourke misses with a takedown attempt - Kim sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Kim throws out a leg kick but Mourke moves out of range and Kim only half commits.
Kim shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Mourke takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Mourke throws out a loose jab but Kim uses good head movement to avoid it.

Mourke jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.


That has opened up Byeongsuk Kim's cut even more.
Kim walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Mourke throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kim.
Mourke throws a right and a left that both miss.
Mourke throws a series of punches but Kim moves out of range.

Mourke checks the leg kick.
Mourke tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kim was well out of range. Poor timing from Mourke.

Mourke wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kim keeps working.
Kim parries the strikes from Mourke easily there. Mourke is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kim to escape.
The referee asks Mourke politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Mourke prefers to stall for the moment though.
Mourke works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Mourke will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kim is not content to let Mourke control the position.
Mourke tries to score with some ground and pound. Kim controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kim seems a little lost for a moment, as Mourke dominates the positioning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Kim ducks under a wild hook from Mourke.
Mourke looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Kim fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Mourke is out of range.
Mourke lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kim circles away quickly and effectively.
Mourke just misses with a punch to the body.

Kim blocks a jab.
Mourke misses with a series of wild punches.
Mourke shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kim as he avoids it easily.

Mourke has his takedown stuffed
and Kim counters with a three punch combo that has Mourke backing up. Mourke nods at Kim to acknowledge the strikes.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kim is looking to score with low kicks.

Mourke throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kim.

and Mourke counters with a straight right hand.

Mourke looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mourke takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Mourke not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Mourke is nestled in close to Kim, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Kim keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Mourke thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kim's head.
Kim is refusing to be controlled, as Mourke sits in half guard.

Mourke is looking for a kimura but Kim is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mourke to get the leverage.
Ricky Mourke is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Byeongsuk Kim has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mourke seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kim for as long as he can get away with.
Kim is looking to control Mourke's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kim avoid being mounted?
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mourke shoots in looking for a takedown. Kim tries to sprawl out of it but Mourke keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kim manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kim slaps away a takedown attempt from Mourke, before circling back to the center of the mat.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mourke shoots for a takedown but Kim saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ricky Mourke showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Mourke has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
