The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akergaard shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Akergaard misses with the body kick
and Thomson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Thomson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Akergaard throws a body kick that misses.
Akergaard fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Akergaard is breathing heavily.
Thomson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A decent looking cross lands there for Thomson.
It looks like Caden Akergaard has been cut.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Thomson has cracked Akergaard with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Thomson lands another huge swinging hook and Akergaard tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Akergaard, before Thomson can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Craig Thomson!
