Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Spliff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brais Punk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eddie Spliff had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eddie Spliff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brais Punk!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Punk tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Punk shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Spliff pinned against the cage. Spliff gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Spliff counters with a nice double leg into side control. Punk won't be happy with that.

Spliff is trying to get an arm triangle but Punk is defending well.
Punk tries to buck Spliff off but Spliff is having none of it.

Spliff is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Punk is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Spliff tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Spliff has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Spliff swings around for an armbar but Punk sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Spliff's guard.
Punk wants to stand but Spliff is controlling his posture from full guard.

Spliff had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Punk defends it easily.
Punk tries to free his leg and advance position but Spliff is retaining full guard.

Spliff keeping moving, preventing Punk from controlling successfully.
Punk is in close to Spliff's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Punk tries to stand but Spliff is controlling from the bottom.

Spliff is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Punk would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Spliff has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Punk can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Punk pushes Spliff off looking to stand but Spliff dives back in and keeps control.

That's time! Spliff's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Punk tries to clinch but Spliff is having none of it.
Punk keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Punk throws a right and a left that Spliff avoids nicely.
Punk throws a head kick that Spliff semi-blocks.
Spliff misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Brais Punk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Punk swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Spliff moves away from the strike by Punk.
Punk dives in and grabs Spliff's left leg, looking for a takedown. Spliff pushes down on Punk's head and hops out.
Punk is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Spliff slips a jab and a cross from Punk.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Punk moves into the clinch.
Spliff fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Punk slows down the pace here.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Spliff fails to pull guard.

Punk has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Spliff regains guard immediately.

Spliff has his foot on Punk's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Punk works his way back into a safe position though.

Punk wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Spliff's closed guard. He's half up but Spliff has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Spliff pivots and extends the arm, Punk falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Spliff! Well done that man!
