The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

West gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
West is trying to control the position but Gutierrez postures up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gutierrez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gutierrez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Gutierrez tries to close the distance and clinch but West swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

West seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

West closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gutierrez quickly recovers to half guard.
West looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

West is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gutierrez doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time West.

Gutierrez drops back, looking for a kneebar! West looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. West looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from West!

Gutierrez has gone for a leg lock! West slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gutierrez's guard.
Kanye West has got the better of the ground game so far.

West wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Gutierrez's closed guard. He's half up but Gutierrez has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Gutierrez pivots and extends the arm, West falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Gutierrez! Well done that man!
