Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gennady Vieira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Romero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romero pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Vieira rushes Romero and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Vieira wants to stand but Romero is controlling his posture from full guard.
Vieira slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Romero bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vieira's guard.

Romero thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Vieira tries to pull guard but Romero forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Vieira breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Vieira tries to bum rush Romero with a series of wild strikes but Romero uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Romero fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Vieira looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Romero jumps guard but Vieira turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Vieira got a little sloppy there for a moment and Romero has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vieira has managed to get both his arms back between Romero's legs - danger averted.

Romero has hold of Vieira's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Vieira manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Vieira is just content to waste time from the top position. Romero takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Gennady Vieira will probably get the nod.
