Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ken Bates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jory Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jory Diaz is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ken Bates!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jory Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Diaz.
Diaz fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Bates misses with a looping left.
Diaz fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bates looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Diaz leaves Bates with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Diaz stuffs the takedown attempt from Bates. Bates gets slowly back to his feet.
Bates is breathing heavily.
Bates throws an off balance right hand
and Diaz counters with a one-two to the body.
Bates shoots in looking for a takedown. Diaz tries to sprawl out of it but Bates keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Diaz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ken Bates. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Diaz lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Bates is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Diaz misses with a double jab.
Oh Bates is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Diaz cracks Bates with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Bates tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Diaz pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Bates is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jory Diaz!
