The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Early has his takedown stuffed
and Van damm counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Jubal Early has been cut.
Jubal Early seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Early shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Van damm counters with a body kick that stops Early in his tracks momentarily.
Van damm scores with a body shot.

Van damm pushes Early up against the cage in a clinch.
Van damm scores a nice knee to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Early has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Van damm avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Tong Van damm has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jubal Early.

Van damm lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Early backwards.

Van damm breaks from the clinch.
Van damm keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Van damm tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Van damm tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Early paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Tong Van damm is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Van damm goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Van damm lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Van damm lands a head kick. Early smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Early tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Van damm swivels and escapes.

Van damm lands a big head kick that sends Early tumbling to the mat! Van damm takes a step backwards and waves Early back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Van damm lands a big uppercut and this one is all over! His foe lies motionless on the canvas - a massive one punch knockout!

During a confident post fight interview, Tong Van damm thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
