The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Konstantin Menshow and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gioane throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Vartanov tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gioane is in Vartanov's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gioane postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Gioane is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Gioane stands up from Vartanov's guard - Gioane perhaps looking for a knockout.
Gioane feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tiberio Gioane hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Well Gioane has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
