The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Wendigo did well to prevent Gracie getting side control.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Gracie is working for a kimura but Wendigo is defending it quite comfortably.
Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wendigo keeps working.

Wendigo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Gracie throws a hook to the side of Wendigo's head but Wendigo sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wendigo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gracie.

Wendigo tries to keep at a distance but Gracie has taken the fight into the clinch.
Wendigo using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Gracie has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
