Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, David Schapiro and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Desormeaux changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Laitela looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Laitela sneaks back into half guard.
Desormeaux is keen to just control but Laitela is a slippery customer.
Laitela looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Desormeaux is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Adelard Desormeaux.
Laitela shoots for a double leg takedown but Desormeaux sprawls well. He's pushed Laitela's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Desormeaux drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Desormeaux wants to control but Laitela is keeping him busy.

The referee asks Desormeaux politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Desormeaux prefers to stall for the moment though.

That was a close round but I would say that Adelard Desormeaux will probably get the nod.
That's time! Desormeaux's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
A head kick misses from Desormeaux.
Laitela fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Desormeaux to the ground. Laitela is now in Desormeaux's guard.
Laitela wants to pass the guard but Desormeaux is keeping the position.
Laitela postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Desormeaux is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Laitela, into his guard.
Laitela isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Desormeaux stacks Laitela on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Desormeaux!

Desormeaux uses his free foot to push down on Laitela's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Laitela.
Laitela is wriggling around trying to escape.
Laitela tries to hold on but Desormeaux pushes him away.

Laitela pushes a forearm under Desormeaux's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Desormeaux is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
