The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sappo misses with a straight right.
Sappo throws a shot from downtown. Dong moves away and avoids it.
Sappo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dong manages to avoid it.
Sappo throws a big shot that misses.
Sappo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dong.
Dong pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Dong drives through with a takedown into guard.
Dong pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sappo is keeping the position for now.
Dong thows a big elbow that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dong stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sappo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dong fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Nice uppercut lands for Sappo. That snapped Dong's head back.

and Dong counters with a takedown into side control.
Sappo gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Dong gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Sappo looks to throw the jab but Dong is out of range.
Dong moves out of range of the strikes.
Dong blocks a jab.
Sappo lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Sappo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Dong tries to land a sweep but no joy.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dong is on top in guard.
Dong sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sappo's guard.
Dong looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sappo with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Dong passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Sappo!

Dong postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Sappo looks a forlorn figure.

Dong is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Dong darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Dong passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Sappo!

Dong looking to control but Sappo is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Sappo keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sappo is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Dong is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Sappo can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well, if Dong is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Dong is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sappo is just riding it out for now. Dong eventually gives up the hold.
