Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick Hardy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andre Perkins!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Alyssa Summers and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perkins misses with a double jab
and Hardy counters with a three punch combo that has Perkins backing up. Perkins nods at Hardy to acknowledge the strikes.
Hardy looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Hardy lands with an uppercut that bounces Perkins off the cage and back into range.
Perkins moves into the clinch.
Perkins tries to throw a body punch but Hardy avoids it by throwing Perkins back against the cage.
Perkins is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Hardy is defending well for now.
Perkins gets control of Hardy's arms and successfully pulls guard. Perkins will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Perkins working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hardy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hardy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Perkins is adopting a defensive guard.
Perkins uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Perkins shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hardy is trying to defend but Perkins finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Well, if Perkins is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Perkins lands strikes from half guard.
Hardy has hold of Perkins's hands but Perkins slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Perkins connects with a nice short shot to Hardy's temple.
Perkins looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's two minutes gone in the round.

Perkins moves into full mount! Hardy won't be happy about that!

Perkins drops a big elbow. That's hurt Hardy! More shots from Perkins and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
