The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

man decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
man takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

man is trying to work for a kimura but Onej is defending well.
Onej tries to kick man off but man keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

man decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Onej has taken the fight to the clinch.
Onej fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Onej is looking for a takedown up against the cage. man gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
man jumps guard but Onej stands there with man around his waist. man gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Onej tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

man is looking to stand up but Onej isn't so interested in that idea.

so man counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

man sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Onej's guard.
Onej looks like he's trying to stand up.
man perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

man takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
man working over Onej with some ground and pound. Onej looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Onej wants to stand back up but man manages to pass into side control.

man slows the pace down.

man tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no man has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Onej prevents man from improving position.
Onej wants to get back to his feet but man drags him back down.
man has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
man working the ground and pound from side control.
Onej pushes man away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, man gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Onej tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Onej looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.

Onej is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Onej is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Onej staying busy and making it hard for man to control.
Onej controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

man working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

man is persistently looking for the submission but Onej is defending it well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Onej is looking to stand back up. He's having to work hard to escape but eventually he manages it.

man fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Onej sprawls well initially but man persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
man stops Onej from getting back to his feet.
man is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

man gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

man shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
man won't allow Onej to get back to his feet.
man seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
man distracts Onej with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Onej using the Thai plumb to throw knees but man has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

man ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. man no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Onej avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
man looking for a sweep. Not yet man, not yet.
Onej wants to stand and escape but instead man has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

man stands up from Onej's guard - man perhaps looking for a knockout.
man misses with a series of wild punches.
Onej moves in looking to clinch but man pushes him off.
Onej is breathing heavily.

and man counters with a single leg into guard. Onej didn't expect that.

and man counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Onej!
bat man overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
