Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mantis Toboggan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Louie Cane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Toboggan comes to the cage accompanied by Reaching Out. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mantis Toboggan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Louie Cane!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Seu Braga and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cane thows a body shot but no joy.
Cane moves out of range of the body kick.
Toboggan throws a head kick that half lands.
Toboggan moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Toboggan displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cane throws out the jab.
Toboggan pivots, looking for a leg kick but Cane is out of range and Toboggan settles back down.
Toboggan throws a big shot that misses.
Cane fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Cane gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Nice body punch from Cane.
Toboggan moves out of range as Cane strikes.
Cane connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Cane takes one to the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cane throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Toboggan lands with a hook. Cane tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cane is defended easily by Toboggan.

Cane walks into a left hand.
Toboggan lands a nice looking kick to the body. Cane takes a step back to recover.
Toboggan lunges at Cane with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Cane's hand.
Cane takes one to the chin there.
Toboggan throws a nice outside leg kick.
Cane tries to bum rush Toboggan with a series of wild strikes but Toboggan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Cane misses with a takedown attempt - Toboggan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Mantis Toboggan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Louie Cane.

Cane looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Cane walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
The fighters circling - Cane throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Horrible takedown by Cane or perhaps it was just good defense by Toboggan which made him look bad.
Cane throws a body punch but Toboggan moves out of range.

Toboggan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cane manages to avoid it.
Cane shoots in for a takedown but Toboggan shows good takedown defense.
Cane jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Cane rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Toboggan counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Cane throws a lazy right hand but Toboggan sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Cane checks a leg kick.
Toboggan thows a body shot but no joy.
Cane shoots in for a takedown but Toboggan shows good takedown defense.
Toboggan lands with a good body shot.
Cane fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The fighters circle momentarily. Toboggan darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Cane on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Toboggan. Toboggan obviously looking to wear him down.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Cane throws a predictable looking body shot
and Toboggan counters with a good low kick that Cane was not able to check.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Cane is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Toboggan pushes Cane back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Cane has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Toboggan is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cane shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Toboggan pinned against the cage. Toboggan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Cane needs to keep his hands up - Toboggan had a free shot at his head there.
Cane with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Toboggan to score with a decent uppercut.

Cane takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Louie Cane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Toboggan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Cane stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Cane doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Cane avoids a punch combination nicely.

Toboggan lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cane is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Cane jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Cane shoots in looking for a takedown but Toboggan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cane's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Cane takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Cane's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Cane sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Toboggan is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Cane takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Cane is the more experienced fighter here and he's going to need to draw on some of that experience if he's going to pull this one out the bag.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Toboggan tries to close the distance and clinch but Cane swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mantis Toboggan showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Toboggan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
