The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bad Joke tries to close the distance and clinch but Nikki swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Nikki.

Nikki working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Bad Joke can't do much from the bottom here.

Nikki swings around for an armbar but Bad Joke sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Nikki's guard.

Bad Joke decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Nikki, up you get!
Nice sprawl there from Nikki as Bad Joke shoots in.
Nikki stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nikki wants it to stay on the feet.
Bad Joke tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nikki swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Bad Joke fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nikki, pushing him back against the ropes.

Bad Joke decides to pull guard.
Bad Joke has Nikki pulled in close to control his posture.

Nikki is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bad Joke is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bad Joke has escaped and now he's on top!

Bad Joke wants to control from the top but Nikki keeps moving.

Nikki is looking for a triangle but Bad Joke pushes his legs off easily.

Bad Joke got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nikki has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bad Joke has managed to get both his arms back between Nikki's legs - danger averted.

Nikki has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Bad Joke is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Nikki.
Nikki tries to improve position but can't.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bad Joke wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nikki keeps working.
Nikki tries to buck Bad Joke off but Bad Joke is having none of it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bad Joke creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Nikki sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Bad Joke scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Nikki to see if he's OK.
Nikki is working to avoid the ground and pound but Bad Joke connects with a decent elbow.

Nikki is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bad Joke pulls his head out easily.
Bad Joke seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Bad Joke is pressing down on Nikki's thigh, looking to free his foot. Nikki is holding on for now.
Bad Joke seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Nikki does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nikki looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Bad Joke pushes past his half guard into mount!
Bad Joke takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Bad Joke throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Nikki because Bad Joke loaded up on that one.

Nikki is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bad Joke defends it well.

Nikki wants to work for an arm triangle but Bad Joke is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Nikki has gone for a leg lock! Bad Joke slips out almost immediately though and dives into Nikki's guard.

Nikki isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Bad Joke stacks Nikki on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Bad Joke!

Well, if Bad Joke is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Bad Joke unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Nikki wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Bad Joke celebrates on the ropes and the crowd goes wild!
