The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stevenson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fonzarelli sprawls well initially but Stevenson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Fonzarelli is looking to escape.

Stevenson is working for a submission of some sort.
Stevenson slips a nice elbow through Fonzarelli's hands, connecting with Fonzarelli's forehead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stevenson is thwarting Fonzarelli's attempts to control the position.
The fighters are battling for position here. Fonzarelli manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Stevenson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Fonzarelli works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Fonzarelli is trying to keep Stevenson in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fonzarelli has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Stevenson off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stevenson misses with a takedown attempt

and Fonzarelli counters with a crisp one two that drops Stevenson! Fonzarelli thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Stevenson to his feet! Stevenson is in big trouble!

Stevenson is rocked!
Stevenson drops his hands momentarily. Fonzarelli doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Stevenson staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Stevenson doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Arthur Fonzarelli!
After the fight, Arthur Fonzarelli was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
