PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Poor Matt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeet Kun Do (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Do comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Mama Said Knock You Out kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Poor Matt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jeet Kun Do!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Dmitry Maklakov and Igor Prikhodko.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Do misses with a kick to the body.
Matt scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Do pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Matt tries to land a leg kick but Do saw it coming and moves away.
Matt looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Do is fending him off so far but Matt persists. Nope, Do circles away and we're back to standing.
Matt moves out of range of the body kick.
Do moves out of range as Matt strikes.
Do is looking to slow Matt down with leg kicks.
Do checks a low kick from Matt.
Matt dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Do. That did some damage!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Do takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Matt lands with a straight right. Do didn't see that one coming.

Matt drives through with a takedown into Do's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Matt prevents Do from getting back to his feet.
Do looking to hit a scissor sweep but Matt is one step ahead there.
Matt pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Do is keeping the position for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Do looking to control.
Matt trying to control but Do is working from the bottom.
Matt trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Matt showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Do throws out a leg kick but Matt moves out of range and Do only half commits.
Matt bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Do stuffs the takedown.
A jab lands there for Matt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Matt scores with a hook.

Do is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Matt rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Do moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Matt throws a sloppy head kick and Do moves out of range easily.
Do misses with a body kick.
Matt scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Do doesn't seem bothered though.
Do thows a left - swing and a miss!

Matt connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Do to the floor! Matt dives in looking for the finish!
Do is still in real trouble! Can Matt finish him?
Matt lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Do! More strikes land and this one is all over! Matt jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
