Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darius Kasparaitis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karl Bartos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bartos has chosen Die Roboter as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Karl Bartos has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Darius Kasparaitis's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Darius Kasparaitis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Karl Bartos!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Anthony Taglia and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kasparaitis moves out of range as Bartos strikes.
Bartos throws a nice looking combination but Kasparaitis bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Kasparaitis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bartos looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Kasparaitis swings around for an armbar but Bartos sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kasparaitis's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kasparaitis pulls Bartos in close to prevent any damage.
Bartos won't allow Kasparaitis to get back to his feet.

It looks like Darius Kasparaitis has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bartos can do anything to dispel that myth.

and Kasparaitis counters with a straight right hand.

Kasparaitis clinches up with Bartos and pushes him back against the cage.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee is keeping an eye on Bartos - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Kasparaitis goes for a takedown in the clinch but Bartos prevents it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Darius Kasparaitis will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
