The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ligtly as he jumps to the side.

so Alvarez counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Ligtly drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Alvarez manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ligtly has Alvarez in his guard.
Ligtly had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Alvarez defends it easily.

Ligtly shoots for a double leg takedown but Alvarez sprawls well. He's pushed Ligtly's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Alvarez closes the distance and clinches up with Ligtly, looking for a takedown. Alvarez pushes Ligtly against the cage but Ligtly circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
