The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko lands a jab to the nose.
Bartlet throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Emelianenko's waist but Emelianenko gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bartlet off to one side.
Bartlet shoots in for a double leg but Emelianenko sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Bartlet tries to clinch up.
Bartlet takes one to the side of the head.
Bartlet closes the distance but Emelianenko moves to the side
and Emelianenko counters with a nice body shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bartlet shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Emelianenko connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Bartlet avoids the body shot from Emelianenko.
Emelianenko scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Bartlet doesn't seem bothered though.
Emelianenko misses with an uppercut.

Emelianenko lands a nice hook to Bartlet's body. Bartlet takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Emelianenko takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Bartlet throws a jab but it's blocked by Emelianenko.
Emelianenko misses with a straight right.
Emelianenko lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Bartlet shoots in but Emelianenko avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Emelianenko fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bartlet manages to avoid it.
Josiah Bartlet seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bartlet is breathing heavily.
Emelianenko throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Emelianenko fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bartlet on the side of the head.
Emelianenko swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bartlet, as that shot connected.

and Bartlet takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Emelianenko scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Bartlet takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Emelianenko cracks Bartlet on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Bartlet falls backwards against the cage. Emelianenko follows up with more strikes that drop Bartlet to his knees. Emelianenko keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Bartlet! This one is all over!
