PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jesus Slate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keller Rock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slate comes into the arena with Some song he made last night blaring out of the sound system. On his way into the cage it seems that Jesus Slate has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jesus Slate seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jesus Slate!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Keller Rock!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Nard Betker and Aafke Stam.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slate doesn't manage to clinch there - Rock circles away.
Rock's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Slate connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Rock scrambles back to his feet.
Rock fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Slate moves into the clinch.
Rock tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
A right handed body shot lands from Slate.
A short right from Slate.

Slate is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Rock can't fight it off and eventually Slate manages to take the fight to the floor. Rock looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Slate working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Rock's head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Slate trying to control the position from guard on top but Rock is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Slate works over Rock with some ground and pound from guard.

Slate gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Slate rushes Rock and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Slate turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Slate landing strikes.
You can see the frustration on Rock's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Slate lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Rock down.
Slate in side control, throwing shots but Rock defends.
Rock avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Slate.
Slate working the head with strikes.

Slate decides to stand up, so the ref orders Rock to his feet.
Slate lands with a nice body punch.
Slate lands with a kick to the temple. Rock shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rock takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Jab, jab by Slate - just one landing.

Rock is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rock takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Rock is still on wobbly legs! Can Slate finish him?
Slate scores with a jab.
Rock stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Slate.
Rock will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jesus Slate has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Keller Rock.
Slate cracks a nice hook into Rock's ribs.
Keller Rock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rock looks gassed!

Slate forces Rock back against the cage and clinches.
Slate lands a left hand that snaps the head of Rock backwards.
Slate working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Slate lands with a light punch inside.
Slate throws a big uppercut that drops Rock! More strikes from Slate and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Rock lies dazed against the cage as Slate celebrates with his cornermen!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jesus Slate!
Jesus Slate retains his middleweight title!
During a confident post fight interview, Jesus Slate thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
