PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paul Allison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Rossi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Allison comes to the cage accompanied by The Black Keys - Lonely Boy. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paul Allison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hugo Rossi!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Mauricio Rocha and Matheus Silva.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rossi shoots in for a takedown but Allison shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Rossi throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Allison tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Rossi is in Allison's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Allison can't keep his opponent in guard - Rossi advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Rossi decides to stand and escape the position.
Allison stuffs the takedown.
Allison misses with a double jab

and Rossi counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rossi controlling the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Allison is breathing heavily.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Rossi works his way into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Rossi is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Allison looks calm but he's in trouble here. Rossi gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Allison is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Rossi lets go of the hold and Allison can pop his arm back in it's socket.
