The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis misses with an uppercut.
Rua throws an off balance right hand
and Lewis counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Mauricio Rua has been cut.
Rua lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Lewis moves out of range of the body kick from Rua.
Lewis uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rua.
A nice combination there by Lewis.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rua tries a head kick but it misses.
Lewis misses with a right hand
and Rua counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

It looks like Wally Lewis has been cut.
Lewis loads up on a big right hand but Rua slips the punch.
Lewis lands a jab.

Rua is rocked!
Lewis jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Lewis misses with an uppercut. Rua saw that one coming.
Rua connects with a leg kick. Lewis looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Lewis misses with a left hand
and Rua counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Rua scores with a hook.
Lewis throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Rua counters with a solid body kick.
Lewis is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rua moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Rua lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Rua sizes up Lewis with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
A good leg kick by Rua.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Rua. Lewis shrugs it off though.

Rua cracks Lewis with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Lewis looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Rua finish him?
Lewis looks up at the clock. Bad move! Rua lands a right hand from hell, dropping Lewis. Rua pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
