The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Odenkirk darts in and clinches Fran up against the cage.

Fran is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Odenkirk to keep the fight standing.
Odenkirk can't find room to land a body shot as Fran controls the action.

and Odenkirk counters by moving into the clinch.

Odenkirk escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Fran counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Fran slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fran has hold of Odenkirk's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Odenkirk tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Fran cranks the arm and Odenkirk screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Odenkirk, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
