The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koistinen shoots in for a double leg but Monsterson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Monsterson.

Monsterson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Koistinen's half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Koistinen tries to roll over but Monsterson keeps him under control.
Monsterson wants to free his trapped foot but Koistinen is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Koistinen is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Monsterson scores with a couple of nice shots.

Monsterson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Koistinen is trying to defend but Monsterson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
