Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mikey Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Hume (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mikey Kim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, James Hume!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Ren Mimura and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kim is looking to clinch but Hume is avoiding it.
Hume chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kim can pounce on him.
Hume throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Kim counters with a good low kick that Hume was not able to check.
Kim rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hume moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Nice uppercut lands for Kim. That snapped Hume's head back.

Hume dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kim. That did some damage!
Kim changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Kim misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Hume counters with a two punch combo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hume swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hume avoids a kick to the body.
Kim throws a nice inside leg kick.
Kim connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Hume momentarily.
Kim tries to score with a low kick but Hume moves his leg out of the way.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kim scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.


It looks like James Hume has been cut.
Kim throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hume sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Kim checks the leg kick.
Kim misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kim lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kim tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Hume is able to avoid easily.
Kim throws a looping overhand right but Hume ducks down to avoid it.
Kim does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Kim lands with a straight right. Hume didn't see that one coming.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Kim. Hume shrugs it off though.
Mikey Kim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hume gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kim will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Kim throws a head kick that misses.
Hume throws a head kick that misses.
Hume throws a nice inside leg kick.
Hume with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Hume blocks an elbow strike.
Hume wants to break free but Kim has control.
Kim landing knees to the body.
Hume looks gassed!
A left hand lands to the body for Kim.
Hume dodges an elbow strike from Kim.

Kim escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kim tries to land a body kick
and Hume cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Kim lands a nice shot to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kim works the jab nicely.
Kim throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Kim throws a right and a left that Hume avoids nicely.
Kim slips a jab and a cross from Hume.
Nice uppercut lands for Kim. That snapped Hume's head back.

Kim moves into the clinch successfully.
Hume wants to break the clinch but can't.
Kim tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Hume avoids it.

Kim pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hume moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.


Hume is rocked!
Kim drops Hume with a huge uppercut! Hume drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Kim is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mikey Kim!
Our winner, Mikey Kim, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
