And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nolan Baine!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baine lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Baine throws a right hand that Cockren ducks under and follows up with a left that Cockren also avoids with ease.
Cockren fails with a takedown attempt.
No joy there for Baine, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Baine has taken the fight to the clinch.
Baine stalling against the cage.
Baine misses with a hook to the ribs.

Baine breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Baine fails to land with a series of punches.
Baine scores with the left hand. Cockren knows he should have avoided that one.


It looks like Jon Cockren has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Baine throws a body kick that misses.

The fighters circling - Baine throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Baine gets a double leg takedown into Cockren's guard.
Baine must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Cockren is adopting a defensive guard.

Baine has gone for a leg lock! Cockren slips out almost immediately though and dives into Baine's guard.
Cockren stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Baine swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Baine pulls Cockren in close to prevent any damage.

Cockren working some strikes from top position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Baine looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cockren is one step ahead there.
Baine has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Cockren postures up and lands a big shot to Baine's brow.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Baine pulls Cockren in to control the position.
Cockren missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Cockren not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Baine escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cockren gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Baine keeping full guard, as Cockren tries to pass.
Baine looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cockren.
Cockren dodges the punch combination from Baine.
Baine tries to close the distance and clinch but Cockren swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Baine shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Baine goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Cockren is on top in guard.

Cockren has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cockren is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Baine trying to keep a closed guard but Cockren is proving a slippery customer.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Baine can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cockren is looking to escape.

Cockren tries to lock up and control but Baine gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Cockren avoids a series of strikes thrown by Baine.

Cockren holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Baine tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Baine can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cockren is looking to escape.

Baine tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Cockren holds on, trying desperately to control.

Baine sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Cockren slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Cockren wants to control but Baine is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Baine wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cockren keeps working.

Baine closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Cockren trying to hold on to Baine's head to control him but Baine postures up.
Cockren is trying is best to control the position here.
Baine wants to pass the guard but Cockren is defending well.

Baine is looking for a kimura but Cockren is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Baine to get the leverage.
Baine misses with a head shot. Cockren uses the momentum to regain guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Baine throws an elbow that misses. Cockren uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Baine's guard. Nice move by Cockren!

Baine wants to sweep but no luck.

Cockren thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Cockren's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Cockren advances position into side control!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Baine is trying to improve his position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Baine is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Baine gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Cockren not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nolan Baine showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!


Baine fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Baine wants to clinch.
Cockren checks a leg kick nicely.

Cockren shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cockren showed some decent athleticism there.
Baine moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Baine trying to control the position.
Baine looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cockren is one step ahead there.
Baine is trying to keep Cockren in close.

Baine looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Cockren drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cockren jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Baine pulls Cockren in to control the position.
Cockren throwing strikes but missing.
Cockren stopping the sweep attempt from Baine.
Baine is pulling down on Cockren's head. It's preventing any offense from Cockren, at least for the moment.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Nolan Baine wasn't active enough on the ground.
Cockren shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Baine defends it nicely.
A bone on bone clash there as Cockren blocks the leg kick.
Cockren misses with a takedown attempt
and Baine finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Baine buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Cockren misses with a double jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Cockren crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Baine - the referee stops the clock and Cockren gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Baine. Cockren manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Baine swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Cockren.

Baine throws a right hand that Cockren ducks under and follows up with a left that Cockren also avoids with ease.
Baine looks to land a left hand but Cockren moved out of range nicely.
Baine buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Cockren takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Jon Cockren has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Cockren drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Baine steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Cockren is out on his feet! Baine sets himself and nearly takes Cockren's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Nolan Baine!
