PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Reilly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kina Penueta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reilly's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Trouble Man. Penueta has chosen Manu Samoa as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Bobby Reilly could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Kina Penueta's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kina Penueta!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Reilly decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We're going to have a standup here because Bobby Reilly wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Reilly takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Reilly tried to score with a low kick but Penueta checks it.

and Penueta counters with a nice uppercut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Penueta feints a jab promting Reilly to slip. Penueta then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Reilly slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Penueta misses with a head shot. Reilly uses the momentum to regain guard.
Penueta slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's time! Reilly's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Penueta shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Reilly manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Penueta throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Reilly on the side of the head.

It looks like Kina Penueta has been cut.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Penueta cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Penueta takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Penueta cracks Reilly with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Reilly is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Penueta wants to control the pace but Reilly is squirming around nicely.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Penueta's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Reilly parries the strikes from Penueta easily there. Penueta is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Reilly to escape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Penueta is trying to ground and pound but Reilly uses the momentary lack of control by Penueta to regain half guard.
Kina Penueta is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Well, if Penueta is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Kina Penueta comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Penueta has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
