The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Byyri throws a hook to the side of Valtna's head but Valtna sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Valtna ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Valtna slips under a jab.
Valtna shoots in for a double leg but Byyri sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Valtna closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Valtna creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Byyri sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Byyri got a little sloppy there for a moment and Valtna has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Byyri has managed to get both his arms back between Valtna's legs - danger averted.

Valtna changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Byyri tries to avoid it but Valtna manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Byyri to the ground. Byyri escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Valtna is breathing heavily.

Valtna's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Byyri connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Valtna scrambles back to his feet.
Valtna shoots in looking for a takedown. Byyri tries to sprawl out of it but Valtna keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Byyri manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
