Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Doblez Mundo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Peter Sabota!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mundo misses with a series of wild punches.
A head kick misses from Mundo.
Mundo looks to throw a body kick
and Sabota counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Mundo has his foot on Sabota's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sabota works his way back into a safe position though.
Mundo looking to control.
Sabota would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sabota stands and steps away. Mundo gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mundo looks to throw a body kick
and Sabota decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mundo's guard.
Sabota stands up from Mundo's guard - Sabota perhaps looking for a knockout.
Mundo tries a head kick but it misses.
Mundo fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mundo throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Doblez Mundo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mundo is breathing heavily.
Sabota shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mundo napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Mundo tries to escape but Sabota is in control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sabota decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Mundo misses with a series of wild punches.

so Sabota counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mundo tries to strike from the bottom.
Mundo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mundo is looking for a triangle but Sabota pushes his legs off easily.
Sabota gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Sabota thows a left - swing and a miss!
A looping hook to the body misses from Mundo. Sabota does a little dance to reset his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mundo throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Sabota counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Sabota postures up.
Sabota stands up from Mundo's guard - Sabota perhaps looking for a knockout.
Sabota tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mundo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sabota somewhat.
Sabota takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Mundo throws a sloppy head kick and Sabota moves out of range easily.
Mundo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sabota bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Mundo is rocked!
Sabota ducks under a wild hook from Mundo.
Oh Mundo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nice defenses there by Mundo.
Doblez Mundo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sabota dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! Mundo has had enough and taps out.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Peter Sabota!
Peter Sabota decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
