The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Obsen shoots in and bounces Karjalainen off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Karjalainen looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Karjalainen keeping moving, preventing Obsen from controlling successfully.
Obsen wants to stand but Karjalainen has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Karjalainen looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Obsen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Karjalainen isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Obsen stacks Karjalainen on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Obsen!
Obsen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Karjalainen keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Karjalainen wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Obsen has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Karjalainen's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Karjalainen is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Obsen!
