PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Stoked (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damned Jimm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Damned Jimm was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jack Stoked!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Damned Jimm!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jimm connects with a looping right hand.
Stoked tries a head kick but it misses.
Jimm moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Stoked drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

It looks like Jack Stoked has been cut.
Jimm uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Stoked.
Stoked shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jimm as he avoids it easily.
Jimm smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Stoked takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stoked moves out of range as Jimm strikes.
Stoked keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Stoked defending well as Jimm loads up on a big left hand.
Stoked uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jimm.

Jimm drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Stoked keeping moving, preventing Jimm from controlling successfully.

Stoked working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jimm doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jimm manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jimm stands up from guard. Let's bang!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Jimm, right into the meat.
Stoked is breathing heavily.
Stoked ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Stoked steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jimm.

Jimm scores with the left hand. Stoked knows he should have avoided that one.

Jimm connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Stoked momentarily.

Jimm throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Stoked on the side of the head.
The fighters circling - Jimm throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

A slow jab from Jimm misses its intended target.

Jimm feints and then cracks Stoked's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Stoked down.
Stoked takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Stoked takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
The crowd cheers as Jimm lands an impressive looking overhand right. Stoked doesn't seem phased though.
Jimm is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Stoked had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jimm throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Jimm closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Jimm is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Stoked sees it coming and defends easily.

Jimm is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Jimm cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Stoked is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Stoked takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Jimm is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Stoked to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Stoked shrugs it off.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Stoked wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Jimm.
Jimm trying to control but he's not successful this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Damned Jimm dominated that round.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Stoked with a lazy takedown attempt
and Jimm counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Jimm lands with a thumping leg kick.
Jimm connects with a leg kick. Stoked looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Jimm pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Stoked back to the cage. Jimm follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Jack Stoked's cut is getting worse.
Jimm lands with a hook. Stoked tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Damned Jimm seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stoked on the wrong end of a nice hook.

Jimm sizes up Stoked with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Damned Jimm seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Jimm lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Jimm lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Stoked is rocked!

Jimm cracks Stoked with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Jimm has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Stoked to stand back up!
Oh Stoked is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Jack Stoked's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Jimm throws out a loose jab but Stoked uses good head movement to avoid it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jimm weaves into range and cracks Stoked right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Stoked goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Jimm is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Damned Jimm!
