The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua tries to clinch there but Shinji circles away.
Shinji misses the shot to the body.
Shinji waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Rua.
Shinji throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Shinji misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rua throws a sloppy head kick
and Shinji counters with a nice leg kick.

and Shinji counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Rua is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Shinji fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Rua on the side of the head.

A close round but Renato Rua will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Shinji misses with an attempted mid kick.
Rua misses the shot to the body.

A nice leg kick lands there from Rua.
Rua feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Shinji's calf.
Rua takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
A looping hook to the body misses from Rua. Shinji does a little dance to reset his feet.
Rua lands with a thumping leg kick.
Rua looks for the body kick but Shinji saw that one coming.
Rua scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Shinji doesn't seem bothered though.
Shinji is looking to chop away at Rua's legs.

Shinji swats away the attempt to clinch by Rua.
Shinji throws a push kick but Rua slaps the foot to one side.
Shinji throws a half hearted mid kick.
Shinji lands a head kick. Rua smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Nice uppercut lands for Shinji. That snapped Rua's head back.

Rua throws a body punch but Shinji moves out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rua takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Rua wants to clinch up but Shinji keeps it at a distance.
Rua is still on wobbly legs! Can Shinji finish him?
Rua ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Shinji moves away.
Shinji lands a nice shot that snaps Rua's head back.
Shinji pounces like a tiger and cracks Rua with a vicious hook! Rua is down but not out! Shinji follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Gaiden Shinji really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Revolution Fatigues logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
