PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Klaus Zissou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Tindall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Klaus Zissou!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Tindall!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Zissou misses
and Tindall counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Zissou stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Zissou wants it to stay on the feet.
Zissou dodges the punch combination from Tindall.
Tindall goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Zissou closes the distance but Tindall moves to the side

so Tindall counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Zissou is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Zissou working a defensive guard here.
Tindall is stalling in the full guard.
Let's hope that Tindall has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Zissou might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Adam Tindall hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Tindall looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Zissou throws a body punch but Tindall moves out of range.
Tindall closes this distance looking for a takedown but Zissou circles away.
Klaus Zissou has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Tindall.
Tindall shoots in and drives through. Zissou sprawls well.
Tindall has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Tindall is looking to clinch.
Tindall circles away from the clinch attempt.

Horrible takedown by Tindall or perhaps it was just good defense by Zissou which made him look bad.

Tindall clinches with his opponent.
Zissou is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Tindall stalling.
Zissou trying to stall but Tindall improves his position.
Zissou changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Tindall fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Tindall throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Tindall throws a sloppy head kick and Zissou moves out of range easily.

Zissou swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Tindall fails with a takedown attempt.
A good leg kick by Zissou.
Zissou throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Tindall shoots in for a takedown but Zissou shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Tindall fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Zissou, pushing him back against the cage.
Zissou tries a knee to the head but Tindall blocks it.
Tindall is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Knees in the clinch landing for Tindall.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Tindall escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Tindall shoots for a takedown but Zissou saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Zissou has closed the distance and engaged Tindall in a clinch.
Zissou looking to slow down the pace here.

Tindall successfully pulls guard.
Tindall wants to stand but Zissou is controlling the position.
Zissou trying to control but Tindall is working from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Tindall working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Zissou doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Zissou manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adam Tindall dominated that round.
That's time! Zissou's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Zissou works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Tindall throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Zissou's waist but Zissou gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tindall off to one side.
Zissou wants to clinch

and Tindall counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Zissou tries to break the clinch but Tindall is controlling the position.
Tindall jumps guard but Zissou stands there with Tindall around his waist. Tindall gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Tindall is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Zissou is defending well.
Klaus Zissou has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Tindall.

Zissou pulls guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Tindall controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Zissou controls Tindall momentarily but Tindall frees himself.
Zissou is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Tindall tries to roll over but Zissou keeps him under control.
Tindall is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Tindall looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Tindall is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Tindall has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Zissou is working away from the top position though.
Zissou seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Zissou frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Zissou looking to control but Tindall is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Tindall is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Tindall is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Tindall can't escape the position.
Tindall tries to hold on but Zissou postures up.
Zissou wants to control the pace but Tindall is squirming around nicely.

Zissou working for a submission but Tindall is keeping him at bay.
Zissou looking to control but Tindall is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Klaus Zissou dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Tindall swats away the attempt to clinch by Zissou.
Zissou tries to close the distance and clinch but Tindall swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Zissou scores with a leg kick.
Tindall tries to clinch but Zissou moves out of range.
Tindall avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Adam Tindall seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Zissou tries to clinch but Tindall is having none of it.
Zissou stuffs the takedown.
Zissou tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Zissou moves to clinch but Tindall breaks away

and Tindall counters by moving into the clinch.
Tindall looking for a takedown.

Tindall being controlled against the cage.
Tindall is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Zissou is defending well for now.

Zissou breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Zissou throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A head kick by Zissou misses
and Tindall counters with a big head kick but Zissou shrugs it off.
Tindall shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Zissou but Zissou pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Tindall lands a nice shot to the body.

Tindall has Zissou up against the cage in a clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tindall has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Zissou avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Tindall tries to stall but Zissou uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Tindall wants to get back to striking at distance but Zissou won't allow it.
Tindall tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Zissou smiles and moves away.
Zissou cracks the inside of Tindall's front leg.
Zissou throws an off balance right hand

and Tindall counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tindall trying to stand up but can't free himself from Zissou's guard.
Zissou looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tindall is one step ahead there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Zissou is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Tindall gets to his feet. Zissou looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Zissou throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tindall.
A thudding body kick lands there by Tindall!

Tindall closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Zissou did well to prevent Tindall getting side control.
Tindall stalling away here and it's allowed Zissou to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tindall sitting in guard here, content to control.
Zissou keeping moving, preventing Tindall from controlling successfully.
Tindall stopping the sweep attempt from Zissou.
Zissou throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

And that's the end of the fight!
Adam Tindall comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Tindall has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
